Combatation Mod

Recommended Posts

So I've been working on a new mod, my first one for DS in about 2-3 years.

Basically the mod adds weapons, lots of them,

Weapons:

Mace fQkR7qF.png

Spoiler

Damage: 40

Uses: 75

The Mace is the easiest of all the weapons to obtain, featuring the cheapest recipe and the lowest tier of crafting station to prototype it. Though it doesn't have much going for it other than okay damage. However, it can be enhanced to create the....

Requires Alchemy Engine

Crafting:

2 Cut Stone, 3 Stingers, 3 Twigs

Red Mace jDPqGB7.png

Spoiler

Damage: 55

Uses: 75

Special Ability: A 20% chance to set whatever you're attacking on fire

The Red Mace is an expensive, but powerful upgrade to the Mace, featuring higher damage and the ability to add onto that damage with fire. Though it might be best to equip it away from trees...

Requires Shadow Manipulator

Crafting:

4 Red Gems, 3 Cut Stone, 1 Mace

Ice Shiv FIOcoOh.png

Spoiler

Damage: 45

Uses: 100

Special Ability: A 25% chance to freeze enemies

The Blue Bane is a little shiv that'll freeze your enemies in their tracks! It's expensive, but worth the pain of collecting it's materials.

Requires Prestihatitator

Crafting:

3 Electric Doodads, 4 Blue Gems, 4 Twigs

Skyscreamer zJKq1kd.png

Spoiler

Damage:82.5 (with 1.5x electric modifier included there)

Uses: 120

Special Ability: 15% chance to strike target with lightning

The Skyscreamer is a legendary sword, capable of sending a lot of things to the grave within a single powerful strike! However, GOOD LUCK getting it's ingredients, it's not easy harnessing the heavens...

Requires Shadow Manipulator

Crafting:

4 Electric Doodads, 4 Volt Goat Horns, 2 Yellow Gems

Night Rod

Spoiler

Damage: 35

Uses: 100

Special Ability: Gain 4 Sanity for every successful hit on an enemy

While not the most damaging tool, the Night Rod is relatively cheap, and offers users an easy chance to regain sanity, good for people who are slipping towards the deep end...

Requires Prestihatitator

Crafting:

2 Purple Gem, 2 Nightmare Fuel, 1 Spear

Bramble Helm

Spoiler

Durability: 300

Defense: 50%

Special Ability: Does damage back to attackers

A helmet of pain and desolation, The Bramble Helm isn't going to protect you as well as other options, but it certainly won't protect whatever hits you.

Requires Alchemy Machine

Crafting:

2 Cut Stone, 8 Twigs, 4 Stingers

Lightshot

Spoiler

Damage: 40

Uses: 25

The Lightshot is a ranged weapon, capable of good damage at range, it can easily separate the strong from the weak. However, it also separates the rich from the poor, as it's very expensive to craft.

Requires Shadow Manipulator

Crafting:

5 Nightmare Fuel, 4 White Crystals, 4 Living Logs

Rainbow Rod

Spoiler

Damage: 120

Uses: 100

Special Ability: Cost 10 Sanity upon a successful hit

Oh hoho YES! Without a doubt the hardest of all these weapons to obtain, but it's stupefying power can send even the proudest of people to the grave within a few mighty blows.

Requires Ancient Pseudoscience Station

Crafting:

3 Rainbow Gems, 2 Electric Doodads, 2 Living Logs

Other Items:

White Crystal

Spoiler

This crystal is the essence of light, or something similar to it...

Requires Shadow Manipulator

Crafting:

2 Red Gems, 1 Firefly

Dark Crystal

Spoiler

They say if you stare at this crystal for too long, it'll stare back....

Requires Shadow Manipulator

Crafting:

2 Blue Gems, 1 Beard Hair

Rainbow Gem

Spoiler

The most powerful of them all, this gem can only be used for the best weapon of them all...

Requires Ancient Pseudoscience Station

Crafting:

1 Red Gem, 1 Blue Gem, 1 Purple Gem, 1 Yellow Gem, 1 Green Gem, 1 Orange Gem

I haven't finished this mod yet, but I'd love to hear some feedback on these ideas, are they overpowered? Underpowered? Too cheap, too expensive? Tell me here before they end up being implemented.

I like the first four weapons and their prices. However, the Night Rod's 8 Sanity per hit seems a bit overpowered. How about 4.35 sanity per hit? Just a suggestion on my part. Other than that, good weapons.

Well, it does have the successful hit part..

On miss: Hit yourself, -16 sanity.

I agree with the Night Rod, I changed it from 8 to 4 sanity upon hit
