Bug Submission:

Category: Graphics
Platform: Mac
Issue Title: Angry guard floor tiles
Issue Description: I started a new game and there where a bunch of red squares around the elevator, the same kind as the guard alert area. Also, when playing the game, guards don't have their FOV indicators, but the little circle that appears when you are about to walk their still shows up. I am not sure if the second part is a bug or not, but if it is, it might have something to do with the first bit.
Steps to Reproduce: IDK, I started up a new game with deckard and internatonal, but I have done this before in the update and the angry guard squares didn't apearpost-478545-0-82383800-1415671589_thumb.

For those that have experienced this, does it usually only start occurring after playing awhile?  Has it occurred *during* a single a game, or only when starting a new game?  Does it ever go away after playing a while?

It happens every time I start a new game. BTW is the lack of guard sight thing a bug to, cuz that might be related.

It happens every time I play. As for whether it goes away, I've found it so difficult not to get shot with no guard sightline-cones available that I couldn't tell you! I'm racking my brains, but I had a saved game that I continued after the update and I *think* that the sightline-cones were still there in that game, but I can't be sure I'm afraid.

Alright, I am not sure if this is a glitch or not, but it has something to do with the floor panels so I thought I would mention it. Along with the random red boxes and lack of sight cones, I am also seeing a bunch of purple boxes on the floor. They are dark purple around the edges and fade in the middle of themselves. Like I said, I am not sure if this is part of the glitch or not, but I am desperate now. I haven't played in a few days and I think that I am going through withdrawal. Please Klei, SAVE MEEEEEE!!!!!! *melts into a puddle*

I am thinking the bug might be related to limited graphics memory.  Does anyone that's having this problem have >256MB?

I might have to provide you a way to run the game with smaller assets to test this, but this will require a bit of code work first.  Will get back to you.

After the latest update, can you try the following:

In your Steam library, right-click (Control+click) Invisible, Inc. and choose 'Properties...'

In the Properties dialog under the General tab, click 'Set Launch Options...'

In the text box type: -GUI_COMPRESSED

Then play the game and let me know if anything is different.  If you're still having the same issue, if you could upload your invisibleinc.txt log file that would be great.

Hi Sphingx, it appears the version of the game you ran was prior to the hotfix we released yesterday evening, so it doesn't have the compressed GUI stuff.  Can you try one more time after receiving the latest update?  The version in the log should say: Build_Version: 118291.

Darn, I was hoping that the GUI compression might allow you to play without the problem, since the game was rendering correctly for you in a prior version, correct?

It looks like there are some driver warnings in the log however, so I'll see if I can pass that info on to our resident graphics expert.

We hope so, but we haven't actually been able to reproduce the issue on our Macs in the office, so it's been a bit of guesswork at the moment.  Could somebody post their specs that is having this issue?

OS X Yosemite version 10.10.1

MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2009)

Processor 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

Memory 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB
