Map is bigger than it looks

There were several mentions that the "pulling back the veil" achievement couldn't be completed. Using Debug to reveal the map and then using Ctrl+f to reveal the cluster fx, reveals an area next to the map which I assume is counted for the sum to complete the "pulling back the veil" achievement but it is impossible to access that area.

If that area is counted for the achievement, does that mean that every map created (after the mergedown maybe..?) in the base game, cannot have the achievement completed?

Steps to Reproduce

Reveal map. Reveal cluster fx. Notice there is more map

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.

The achievement has been fixed, it was indeed checking the whole grid.

Could this extra unreachable map space be reason why performamce is considerably worse than it was before after the merge update?
