Kabrute

and we aren't talking kilos of co2, just 20 grams shoving several hundred kilograms of water out of the way....

Its the way ONI is designed. Each tile can occupy only one unique element. This is why you are having this issue. To mitigate it, they'll have to change the fundamental working of the ONI engine.

you don't have to change anything fundamental to have the dupes exhale into other gas,and not liquid....other than maybe the fundamental act of where they exhale, moving that up from their feet to their face would generally speaking solve the issue, however, checking to make sure the feet aren't in water would also solve it, neither should change anything truly fundamental in my opinion.

Yep, exhaling from their face would solve this issue.

But I'm still dreaming about mixed gases and mixed liquids.

Changed Status to Fixed

This will be fixed in the next major update.

Now, if dupicants are standing in shallow water, the CO2 will appear at their heads instead of at their feet.
