Duplicants unnecessarily switch between showers

Master Miner
  • Branch: Live Branch Version: Windows Pending

Duplicants often interrupt showering just to go to another shower.
Sometimes they step out of the shower then step into it again.
Sometimes they interrupt showering and go to another task, remaining "grimy".
There is enough water in the shower and in the pipe.
All showers are in latrines.
Duplicants sometimes go to another shower in the same latrine and sometimes to another latrine.
Water temperature is around 35°C.

I'm observing this in a base with 21 duplicants and 12 showers.

Steps to Reproduce
Test with a base with some 20 duplicants (or more, I guess) and half that many showers.

Are your showers dirty water output connected to the rest of the plumbing in a straight line through the output?  This can lead to the pipe being temporarily blocked by other dirty water passing through which interrupts the shower.  You should build a one section pipe up out of the shower and then connect all your plumbing through that to avoid this problem.

I've changed the plumbing, but the dupes still interrupt showering.

I had the same wired behavior in a previous build. I thought it was because of low Oxygen in Latrine (they leave the shower take some deep breaths and then continue).

But If you can't Fix the Problem and your base is relativly gem-free, you can just disable them (because removing gems is the only benefit as I know)

Try adding one more pipe tile before junction. I bet the shower on the right doesn't get interrupted.

And you can also hover your mouse over the shower and see the problem it has. It's usually either "not pumping" or "empty pipe".

If it reduces stress it is not displayed in the stress decription?

There is no effect on stress by "grimy" at the moment. So it's mostly useless. Unless you need some more dirty water.

Thank you for the info! That might be unintended though...

Until OC I needed every drop of it to irrigate pincha peppernut.
Now I need every drop of it for fertilizer synthesizers, because tepidizer can't heat crude oil into petroleum and NG any more.
