While this is the reason why it breaks, clean water should not destroy the purifier.

I'm more curious if this was something he considered correct before and just didn't care about literally all water being destroyed.
 

Yes, unfortunately there is an issue right now where clean water is breaking the Water Purifier when it is pumped through it. We are working on fixing the issue, and should hopefully have it addressed for the next update.

This strategy is used to create a constant loop going through your plumbing system, all you have to do is load the piping with fresh water, and then when dupes use the shower or toilets, the fresh water is pumped through the purifier then the contaminated water pumps into purifier itself.
