Unable to use skins or DLC characters in Online Mode

So, the same issue as this one which I had?

In that, it only applies to world hosted by yourself?

I still haven't solved this issue. What mods are you subscribed to? (Not have active, but are subscribed to.)

It has been resolved. I think it could be due to bad internet (I was on like 5 mb/s for a while when I reported this).

It's a rarish bug that happens time to time. If you're playing a DLC character when this happens, your entire character will be deleted and you'll be sent back to the character select screen. Only had it happen once, luckily I was Walter so no character deletion, but Its happened to some friends who were playing DLC characters and it really stinks.

It's been happening to me many, many times.

At this point I've just taken to not playing any DLC characters on my own servers.

Would hosting a dedicated server prevent this bug?

I don't believe so, I'm really sorry to hear about your troubles :(. Here's hoping some fix can be implemented for it.

I've never had the bug when playing on other community servers, so is it just an issue with my connection, and the dedicated server would have that same connection issue?

When it happens again to you, try posting your client_log and server_log. Maybe there's something that could be of help in them.
