Auto Hatch Sorter ideas?

Short of getting a actual critter sorter that could sort based on age and automate to the drop off how would you do this? Right now it still seems very manual. 

Not sure how to start calculating the probability on this but given enough pressure plates and knowing how often hatches move / stop would something like this be viable? Only if they won the jackpot would they be.. um converted to yummy bbq.

You could build a water clock that will ship a single egg every 12.5 cycles to a hatching room, to replace critters in an 8-critter ranch, and all other eggs shipped to a "hatchery" where the eggs would sit in a pile, and periodically door pump water to drown the critters as they hatch.

Each of those pieces are fairly complex builds individually, but there are numerous threads on water clocks, door pumps, and auto-droppers around.

I'm working on a auto-sorter hatch ranching that will allow to add a new hatch when one die. To detect when a hatch is dead and need to be replaced, I use the meat as a signal. In parallel, I keep a hatch on a waiting room from where it will fall if a meat trigger the signal.

To separe each species, you can inspire you with my auto pacu setup. It allow to select each spacies. For that, you need one Convoyor loader for each species that leed to the specific room.
