Critter Traps Breaking

Recommended Posts

normally I would just build a storage compactor within my stable and wait for a slickster (or any other critter really) to reproduce. I then sweep up its egg into said storage compactor and viola, trap-free trapping. I guess the only real use for critter traps are for morbs (but then again, there're ways to get them where u want without traps...)

Apparently the traps overheat at 75C. Since they're made only of plastic, they're still useless for slicksters even with the new melting point.

:))) you are doing it wrong.

First clean (mop) the  crude oil, then build the trap, then relocate.

If the tile under the trap is 110 degrees and the temp of co2 is 98 degrees, the trap heat slower without going in contact whit liquid, and faster whit liquid. (liquid make the heat transfer faster from the tiles under the trap to the trap compared whit gases heat transfer)

Try dumping some polluted water into the oil biome. Draining a single pool from a swamp biome always does the trick well enough to trap all slicksters, and if you're doing some early exploration it'll keep your dupes from becoming unevenly cooked steaks.
