Tell me. When do meteorites and comets begin to fall?

Recommended Posts

With my actual game, i was half a biome away from top layer and meteors started. Destruction not so much, perhaps half of top layer biome erased. Have tons of steel ready, before you try, to create a row of steelblocks or bunker doors ^^

After the 4th Cycle (Starting 5th) for 10 Cycles, then 4 Cycles Break, then 10 Cycles Shower, 4 Break, 10-4. 10-4 &c.

However If you breach the surface (dig to or dig out a exposed to space cell), the shower will begin regardless.

Do meteor showers always hold to this cycle? Always 10 cycles showering, 4 cycles clear?

Can you avoid making scanners entirely if you have a properly tuned 4/10 cycle toggle system?

Yes and no.

No if you do mind shutting the bunker doors for 10 cycles when in between the meteor showers there is a time where those will not fall (and this time is as variable as the time meteors rain down, which is also a lot but not as long)

Yes if you do not mind.

Having a perfect meteor scan system is better and only needs one 200s buffer gate.

Forgive me if these sound like uninformed questions, as I haven't really found any resources on the patterns of meteor showers, and it's kinda important.

If I understand correctly, there is a 4 cycle period "calm season", where meteors are guaranteed to never fall. After that ends, there is a 10 cycle "meteor season" during which meteors will fall, but not constantly. The duration of showers during the meteor season is completely variable and unpredictable, within a certain range of minimum and maximum shower durations. Rinse and repeat.

Does that sound correct?
