Rocket's "ghost copy" (Responsible for game crash after rocket's landing)

Recommended Posts

I experienced a strange bug related to rockets and wanted to see if someone else experienced it and share how I resolved the problem in my case.

I don't know what triggered the situation, but the game was closed in the middle of a mission and when I came back the following day, I noticed that the Launch mission button in the Starmap windows could be activated for this particular rocket.

It appeared to do nothing, but the game crashed when the rocket returned. After reloading, I noticed some kind of "ghost copy" of the original rocket in it's location (while said rocket was still in space). Deconstructing it crashed the game.

Using debug, I tried to delete it (my astronaut reappeared and fell on the ground as if the rocket just landed) and I was also able to copy-paste it (It created a new visible rocket).

In the end, I reenacted the launching (opened the bunker doors, turned on the gantry and assigned a new astronaut). The "ghost copy" kinda disappeared (I think), and the original rocket successfully landed shortly afterward.

So far, the bug reports that I think might be related to this issue :

So the rocket is still there just not visible.  Some saving/loading in between made it forget what state it was in.

So maybe the rocket experienced some form of quantum entanglement, and began to exist simultaneously in space and on the surface of the asteroid. :?
