RonEmpire
what tile/material do we use to confine/contain voles. they seem to be 'flying/floating' through walls all over the plays on the top layer of the visible graphic. Sasza22
Are they floating thorugh dupe-made walls as well? Hatches can only burrow in soft tiles, they won`t burrow in granite or harder stuff. Maybe the voles have a similar mechanic just so that they stay on the surface. Coolthulhu
Pretty sure they're special cased not to phase through raw abyssalite or possibly any abyssalite. Their pathing isn't affected by hardness, because neutronium is harder than abyssalite and they phase through it just fine. I'm pretty sure that the best way to farm them right now looks like this: Find some raw abyssalite that you haven't dug out yet Mine around it to leave a small floating "island", 3-4 tiles in length Build critter buildings on that island Build a room around that island. Room boundary tiles must not touch the island. Use item dropper circuit to feed it regolith There is no option in critter feeder for voles. You could try filling the feeder with dirt (under hatches), but they'll quickly eat it all, because their 5t/cycle is way too much for anything except regolith (and not enough to make a difference in regolith, unless you mass breed them). EDIT: Yep, hardcoded to avoid abyssalite and maybe closed doors (other than pneumatic).
