How long that will be remains unknown, but don’t expect it soon after the initial releases. And yes, you probably have to pay twice (or more times depending on how many platforms you want to play on). Furthermore, it might be done similarly to Shipwrecked on mobile devices, with it being a standalone game (on mobile), rather than an expansion. This is just speculation on my part though. I don't mind to pay the game twice if I like it, Klei deserves it, but it would have been fun for us to have all supports out at the same time and good for Klei for ads and money.
