Ravaging hunger nerfed in space industry upgrade.

Recommended Posts

Prior space industry upgrade playing with "ravaging hunger" was fun and involves some basic beginners strategies. Now its just lazy easy.

If it was hard for someone,  he could play on lower difficulty.

I was expecting at least some hardcore content, but u made game too casual again.

I don't understand why u don't let hardcore players to have some fun playing with at least some challenges?

Playing games on the highest difficulty should be near impossible (that's why we have options to choose lower difficulties). Give us more challenges plz ^^

What are the new numbers?  For those who don't know, the old number was -2000 kcal/cycle for ravaging hunger, resulting in dupes needing 3000 kcal/cycle.

New one -1000

I started new game and thought: wow, how good am i with "Raw foodism" strategy (i was playing without wasting time on cooking)

And then i found new numbers, now i am little upset.

I never understood that idea because cooking adds kcal and is worth the cost of a cooking dupe except for meal lice.  But maybe that isn't true with 3000 kcal/cycle.

If one dupe could cook more than 7.5 gristle berries on average every cycle on old ravaging hunger, then it would be worth it resource-wise and you would gain kcals by having that dupe around.  If you have a decent cook, I think it could be worth it.  But this is a lot more than normal difficulty.  Assuming you use are playing on normal, you only need to cook more than 2.5.  Same for mushrooms.  I would say cooking isn't a waste of time because 7.5 gristle berries per chef is quite achievable.

Also, I agree that the higher difficulty setting should be kept around.  If they want to add difficulty settings, I think having increments of 500 up to 2000 would be best.

At the very beginning, cook makes food for himself and for guy that makes electricity for kitchen. So its generally not wise to cook anything before u have coal generator installed. Cook makes 1 dish in about 2 in-game hours, and he adds 400 kal to dish. I used to press mealwood. And it didnt work well in my last game. 4000 kal income in best case is not enough when u need 9000 each day to feed 3 ppl. Any way i managed to survive fist 20 days not feeding my newcomers.

In current game i didn't cook any mealwood, and it works great. Cooking only berries and mushrooms is good, but i prefer to do it only after i have coal generator. And also, i prefer to build coal generator only if i have smart battery. So its somewhat long story )

I rush coal generator and smart battery so I can get my people off the wheels after basic farming.  I usually get it by cycle 15.  Also, I personally don't cook my meal lice because of the water cost.  The water is better spent on bristle blossom later.

Same.

Just to be clear, cooking mealwood is more water efficient than planting blossoms. But anyway its not time efficient. If u transfer calories to possible o2 generation, best ratio is mushrooms. So its better to plant only mushrooms if u want to save water. But anyway game is so casual , there are so much water around.
