2 new alternate textures for a few prefabs

Recommended Posts

I think if some prefabs get slightly different appearances it would drastically make Don't Starve Together much more immersive and greater experience! The thing I'm suggesting is basically the same way rocks item has 3 different appearances.

I suggest these prefabs get 2 new appearances to make the world feel more unique while the player travels around it!

  • Flint
  • Grass
  • Sapling
  • Berry Bush
  • Oasis Cactus

Sure, why not. I mean I can't think of a good reason not to, it's just hard to think of a good reason to.

It's not a bad idea, it's just hard to justify spending the resources on small changes like this sometimes.

Klei have been producing hundreds of skins for just about every item to exist so I don't see any harm in them to produce a few free skins which would be more akin to minor edits of some world generated prefabs..

Also, unlike skins which only a select few can enjoy all people who play Don't Starve Together would be able to take pleasure in gazing upon the different styles of grasses they encounter.

But, grass can't... the "uniqueness" wouldn't add up. The whole point about the skins was that the player crafted it, not that they found it like that. its a natural resource, and naturally it cant be manufactured before it officially exists.

In nature everything doesn't look the same

What are you talking about?

I am saying for a few prefabs which are generally seen everywhere to get alternate textures/anims like how rocks have 3 different anims, I'm not saying to have pink color heart flint laying on the ground :wilson_unimpressed:..

@Floofer You're arguing against a mechanic that already exists in the game. Take a look at fossils. When dropped naturally, there's several different textures it uses. I don't see why the same exact thing couldn't apply to other natural items as well.
