"Unreachable" builds

The game will designate areas as unreachable when they actually are reachable. Building underwater is a familiar example. I'm also running into this issue as I breach the surface for the first time. If I have a straight ladder up, it remains reachable. But if I offset one level of ladders to force the dupes past an atmo suit checkpoint, the whole area registers as unreachable. If I switch the ladder back to a straight shot, it all becomes reachable again. Opening or closing airlocks doesn't seem to have any effect, just whether it's a straight run.

Dupes will not build anything deeper than 8ish tiles underwater, by design. They have no such inhibitions while in an exosuit.

As for the building above the asteroid, can you post a screenshot of what you mean? I've never had such an issue before, and a picture would help. Make sure your airlocks are oriented either vertically with no regolith blocking the path, or if oriented horizontally make sure the ladder is at the base half of the airlock, not the upper half.

I just realized that it was a redundant exosuit checkpoint. I didn't realize I could attach multiple docks to the checkpoint, and if more than one checkpoint is built going in a direction then apparently it becomes unreachable.
