Consuming regolith

Hi everyone!

 

I know there are many discussions about regolith.But my question is different.Some say that dupes can consume regolith up to 100kg per cycle.But how to do it?

 

Answers will be appreciated.

regolith is not eatable and is only used for filtration, maybe they calculate 100kg from absorbing carbon dioxide, purify polluted water that the dupes made?

And even then, 100 kg pales in comparison to the amount the game drops- about 5000 kg per tile I'm finding.

If you clear away all the regolith you get between 40 and 50 tons new regolith per cycle on average. However, there's for the most part no reason to actually do anything about the regolith on top of the bunker doors/tiles. Just let it build up. It will even itself out and stabilize as new meteorites destroys the regolith already there. It's only in areas where you need unobstructed access to space you need to worry about doing anything about it at all.

@dallion above already explained this isn't the case. You can convert it into useful things that may or may not end up being used as food if you look at other threads but dupes can't eat regolith.
