PamelaSnowball
Could exists a methane generator (methane can be extrated from faeces, food debris, sticks or paper and water in real life) But, in oxygen not included life the faeces and food debris could be replaced by compostables. It could be a sustainable energy gennerator if you have a mealwood plantation in your colony Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/94676-methane-generators/ Share on other sites
he77789
methane = natgas. and mealwood needs dirt, which is hard to renew. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/94676-methane-generators/#findComment-1075834 Share on other sites
yoakenashi
@PamelaSnowball welcome to the forums. Interesting suggestion; you're looking for a "Digester". Essentially a Digester would follow the inputs of the Compost (ie, compostables), but have similar output as the Fertilizer Synthesizer (ie, Natural Gas). Unfortunately I do not think they will implement anything like this as both the Compost and Fertilizer Synthesizer recently went through some changes, the latter done to rebalance a Natural Gas production exploit. You can; however, use the dirt from the compost and combine it with polluted water to generate Natural Gas in a round-about digester method. The downsides are 1) the mealwood -> compostable -> dirt loop isn't sustaining, and 2) you won't get much Natural Gas from the Fertilizer Synthesizer. D.L.S.
Need chemistry in game, just example: CO2 + 4 H2 + heat = CH4 + 2 H2O, we have waste co2, we have waste h2 after electrolysis, this 2 can be converted into useful methane and water, if we had chemical reactions...
