Stacking items

So I've noticed that any meat (normal, monster, whatever) when left on the ground for some time combines into one stack which is pretty nice.

Other things should also do that like for example:

-Grass (grass gekko farms)

-Twigs (twigly tree farms)

-Spider gland, silk (spider farms)

These are the items that are mostly in huge numbers on the ground and are pain in the butt to collect (long time picking up)

This isn't really meant to help with collecting items, but as a way to slightly help with server performance by reducing the amount of items in the world. Yeah, it can be abused to help collect a lot of monster meat at once, but that's not really it's purpose.

Yeah that's also what I meant. Have you ever seen a spider farm after some in-game years (when you stop picking up silk cuz you've got all you need)? There's so much crap on the ground that the game slows down

In the meantime it's probably easily moddable by adding this line to the items you listed :

 

    inst:AddComponent("selfstacker")

I'm not saying that the base game shouldn't be improved, just suggesting an option.
