meyers973 Posted August 8, 2018 Share Posted August 8, 2018 This is just a compilation of a bunch of ideas that I've been playing around with for a while in my head. This post will include talking about new rooms, decor, and fabrication these things feel free to comment. I'd love to talk to others about these ideas or even new ideas! New Rooms + Tweaks of Existing Rooms I feel as if the amount of tile2 that we currently have for building rooms is too small of an amount. maybe this is just me being too overzealous about my base but with the current amount of tiles allowed, the base starts to feel cramped and squished together. I find myself making cuts here and there trying to fit everything needed in each room without having to give up the morale bonus given / room. But when this happens, I end up having to give up a decoration score and I end up with stressed dups. I also find that there is a lack of available rooms to create. The list ends up being quite short when you take out the upgraded versions of rooms. It would be nice if more rooms were added in maybe some future updates. kitchen morale bonus +1 increase on food quality lockerrooms/washroom morale bonus possibly being able to stay clean longer i.e. having only to shower every 2 days to keep the grimy at bay farm & garden (two separate rooms with different needs) a garden wouldn't need a farming station +5% growing speed a farm would allow a larger number of tiles2 but would need a farmers station +10% growing speed +1 food quality lab / research room +10% speed on research morale bonus from a good work environment storage storage compactors would be able to hold +25% - +50% cooler / freezer would need a minimum of 4 wheezeworts & a rations box able to keep food fresh for +25% longer nursery contain a minimum of 1 incubator and base must have a stable +10% speed on incubation increase in the moods of animals in stable Graveyard dups grieving period is 10% faster These are just the rooms I could think of, though I'm sure more experienced players can help add onto this list. New Decor & Furniture previous post It feels very bland to use the same decor pieces over and over. It would be nice to also get a few more paintings added to mix things up. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing a dup version of The Scream by Munch, but when there are about twenty other canvases with the same painting, it gets very old. @Ellilea made amazing new painting ideas for the new game, you can see them here in her post. I also think that it would be cool for dups to be able to reverse engineer the furniture and items they find in the abandoned buildings scattered throughout the map. As of right now, they serve no purpose other than to be there to fill up space next to the brain thing, filing cabinet, and the computers. The brain, the cabinet, and the computers are the only things that have some sort of action available for lore. Being able to reverse engineer items would give a whole new level to what the dups are capable of, and for players, it adds a nice splash of color to things. a few ideas of new decorative items that I could think of: fishbowl on a table or stand would require feeding daily would need a water change food poisoning if water isn't changed every 12 cycles morale bonus +30 decor decorative vase plants would not be able to produce products can house either a Balm Lily or Sleet Wheat would need watering +50 decor candle morale bonus stress relief (aromatherapy) fire hazard if left unattended dups will automatically blow it out if the last dup in the room and is leaving needs to be manually lit comfy chair (available through reverse engineering) dups will sit during downtime and talk to one another +30 decor stress relief (after having talked to other dups) Fabrication So I had this idea mostly thanks to my sister going back to school, but wouldn't it be cool if we could fabricate backpacks? A dup would wear it instead of a vest or sweater. Dups would be slowed down slightly when empty but when full it can slow down a dup up to 20%. How athletic a dup is will determine how much the dup is affected by the backpack weight. Dups with low athletic skills will huff and puff every so often when carrying a full bag. An atmo backpack can be made specifically for the atmo suit but it would slow a dup down even more than when they aren't wearing an atmo suit. I just thought it would make things go a lot more efficiently especially when trying to excavate a new biome for new materials. Okay, imagine this, stuffed animals. Wouldn't it be cute if we were able to fabricate stuffed animal versions of the wildlife in the game? It could help dups relieve stress while sleeping, and like the hats being placed on the floor at night, the stuffed animals would be placed on the floor during the day. The stuffed animal would be able to "wear out" and the dup would grieve for a cycle if given a new stuffed animal right away or grieve for 3 cycles if not given a new one. It could help players who haven't started up plastic production and are unable to make the comfy beds yet. A stepping stone between the cot and the comfy bed.
