Alfons100
Ever since the Lux mechanic was revamped I’ve wanted more interactions from it, like certain materials shining when exposed, but thats not what I am gonna talk about exactly. I am thinking of a new plant thats an ’alternative’ to the Sleet wheat in terms of lategame. Visually I am imagining it being a potato/thing in the ground, buried in dirt, with a gray color, but there’s a flower ’bud’ on top of it which absorbs all the sunlight and puts it into the potato. When harvested the flower is discarded and only the potato is eaten. It requires hot environment, hydrogen atmosphere and about half as much Lux equivalent to sunlight. So this is a very lategame plant. I could require water like most other plants, but it should not require a whole lot of it, considering the growth method it has. However, keep in mind that Sunlight only is a part of the day, so bringing in your own Shinebugs to make it grow faster is crucial to make it efficient. And keep in mind that the Meteorshowers are a thing. Synthetic sunlight is viable here. The plant is never found in the wild, you must find the seeds buried in the Surface biome, somewhere in the regolith. Now, it should have very high calorie output compared to the Water is consumes, however. The raw plant is +0 in food quality, and cooking it will make it +1, but- it lightly reduces the amount of calories it has. Unlike other foods, so cooking it is not a neccessity. There should also be a new food you can make out of it, lets call it ’Souffle’. Made out of Raw egg and Luxroot, with a food quality of +3 and also 4000kcal worth(How sating) while also slightly making the calorie efficiency better. —- The game lacks a lategame ’High yield but foul tasting’ plant in my opinion, Meal lice kind of fits, I guess. Liceloaf isnt really that efficient as it wastes a lot of water. This Luxroots possible ”Max” food quality is not as high as say, Sleetwheat with its pepper bread, or Bristle berry with its Stuffed berry. You can get lots of food with Luxroot but the quality never gets super high unless mixed with an omelette component. The shinebugs costs a bit to maintain and same with the hot hydrogen environment. The reward you get is little water consumed for your efforts. he77789
Just revamp Muckroot. In the database description of Buried Muckroot, it says Quote The Muckroot reproduces wildlywhen kept in precise conditions, but it is wholly incapable of reproducing without direct, natural sunlight. That is copied from database entry of Buried Muckroot from EU-279497. This was initially one of my ideas, but since they remove that text-snippet it didnt make as much sense I thought. But yeah. Thats a good idea to cleverly recycle content Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/94336-luxroot-the-space-potato-with-a-bud-that-needs-a-lot-of-light/#findComment-1072249 Share on other sites

Considering that sunlight was actually added they maybe reconsidered the phrase? he77789
Nope! It is still there from Ranch MKII(Where I start playing),CU and EU. Alfons100
Just now, he77789 said: Nope! It is still there from Ranch MKII(Where I start playing),CU and EU. Well, I was wrong then. It would make sense for the Muckroot to be grown in sunlight for a plentiful food still.
