ThatoneDSfan
Chapter 3: Violence Wilson: (laying in his tent with Zen dozing off in between his arms) (A creature stepped into camp and sniffed around as if looking or waiting for something) Wilson: (hears clip-clops of a heavy beast and jolts awake, his heart sank into his stomach at the sight of what it was. He suddenly saw it have his body stabbed by its massive horn again. He froze with fear.) Wes: Wigfrid one of the beefalo got out again!! Wigfrid: Again?! Oh my gosh.. (walks towards the beefalo with a large horn) I’m getting real tired of you coming up here mister because it is you every single time and none of the others! (She glared at it before blowing on the horn.) (The beefalo froze for a second with its ears perked before it let out a loud bellow in response) Wigfrid: (starts walking towards the farm area as the beefalo follows) Wilson: (breathes heavily) Zen: (hears him and slightly wakes up) What’s wrong Wilson? Wilson: The- the beefalo are much more terrifying up close, I thought I was done for. Zen: Don’t worry Wilson, they won’t lay a hoof on you without getting a good mauling. (He nudged Wilson’s arm to comfort him.) Wilson: (smiles at Zen) Webber: Good morning Wilson! I made the healing salves and honey poultice for Zen! Wilson: Alright Zen let him see your wounds. Zen: (holds his body up in a way where Webber could access the wounds) Webber: Oh my gosh, what happened to him? Zen: Magic isn’t free to use. Webber: Oh… (he began patching Zen up with honey poultice) Wes: Hey Wilson, if you’re staying with us you got to work just as hard as us. Wigfrid: Wes you don’t have to be rude about it just because he is new. Wes: (eye roll) Whatever. Wigfrid: Okay so the beefalo in the camp a few minutes ago, when I brought the troublemaker back to the herd the whole herd was scattered and the walls of the pen looked trampled too. The hoof prints were spread out more than usual and they were deeper in the ground as if they were running. Something must’ve spooked them or they felt threatened and started to chase the creature. We need you and Zen to help herd the beefalo back into the pen. Wilson: (pulls on the collar of his shirt and starts sweating some) S-sure no pro-problem. Zen: (saw Wilson’s sweat and some of his white hairs shifted to black) Wilson is not going down there. Wilson: Z-Zen it’s okay, I can go… Zen: No. What if one tries to buck you and I can’t attack it in time? Wilson: Zen, it’s okay. Wigfrid: Don’t worry, Zen! They are highly domestic, they only go after you if it’s Spring. They shouldn’t be in mating season quite yet since Winter ended a few days ago. It takes a little bit before they go into mating season after Winter. Zen: Winter ended a few days ago? Then why is Wilson sweating. Wigfrid: (looks a Wilson and saw his face covered with sweat and that he was trembling) Wilson? Wilson: (He only stares back at her) Wigfrid: Wilson I promise you they won’t- Zen: (his black hairs were spreading) He isn’t going. Wigfrid: Please just trust me- Zen: (now in his beast form he snapped at her arm and snarled, refusing to let go) Wilson: (He snapped back to his sense and quickly gripped onto Zen’s scruff) Zen! Zen stop it! Wigfrid: (blood ran down her arm and crunching could be heard as Zen was reaching bone) Zen please stop! Zen: (he suddenly let go and collapsed to the ground and had a black blow dart in his neck) Wes: (holding black blow darts and a hollow piece of bamboo) I told you we should’ve never let him out. Webber, go get some healing salves. Wigfrid, are you okay? Wigfrid: Y-Yeah I think so.. Wilson: Are you sure you are okay- (He was shoved away by Wes) Wes: Go. Away. Now. Go lock up your monster! And make sure he stays there! Wigfrid: Wes, it’s no one’s fault. It’s not like Wilson could’ve predicted it and Zen just got overprotective that’s all. Wes: Overprotective about what?! Oh my gosh Wigfrid tried to convince Wilson herding the beefalo was completely safe! So dangerous! I guess I’ll try to break or rip off her arm because of it! (He was yelling, trying to sense with her) Wigfrid: Wes, we have no clue what Zen might’ve gone through in the past. Wes: You what just I just went through in my “past”?! You nearly being killed by some monster! But you what? I guess that’s perfectly fine! Wigfrid: (she only looked down at the ground) Wes: Webber go take care of her, please. (He saw Wilson standing there) I didn’t mean just stand there when I said to go lock up your monster! Wilson: (No longer with a fearful face and instead a confronting one, he stared Wes dead in the eyes) Wes, before I say this I will have you know that I do not support any type of aggressive or violent behavior whatsoever nor would I ever even enjoy doing such a thing. But Zen is not a monster and he has a name for a reason, to be called by it. You will not call him a monster and his name is Zen, not monster. If you do so one more time, it is not going to get pretty. Wes: What makes you think that by threatening me you run things around here? Wilson: I never said that. All I said was Zen is not a monster and you do not call him that. Wes: Well here’s what I’m saying. I don’t and won’t ever take directions from you. (He swung his fist at Wilson’s nose) Wilson: (He felt blood trickle down his face from his nose and got up and wiped the blood off. He walked up to Wes as Wes smugly smiled at him. Wilson uppercutted him before kicking him in the stomach and knocking Wes over) Wigfrid: You two please stop fighting! Webber: (he watched with horror as the two fought and tears went down his face) Wes: (He kicked Wilson in the face when Wilson went to pin him down while jumping up at the same time) Wilson: (he stumbled back some but quickly formed his hands into fists again when he stabilized himself) (Note to self: jump into Zen’s mind as he dreams under the sleep darts injections) Zen: (he saw only internal blackness) (A chuckle sounded and Zen snarled) Zen: (he heard music start playing *A.K.A. Ragtime* and saw a black, creepy, throne- looking chair appear) ???: You’ve come across a terrible phase haven’t you? Or is it really you? Zen: (his thoughts: That voice, it’s familiar…) ???: Indeed I am familiar, for we’ve met many many times before. Zen: (his fur raised) How did you know what I was thinking?! ???: You see, the true question is how would I not hear it? Zen: What do you mean?! You’re confusing me! Who are you?! Show yourself now! ???: So many questions, my dear Xavier… I can hear because we are in your mind, your dreams, your nightmares. Zen: (he froze and snarled in rage) DON’T EVER CALL ME BY MY OLD NAME!!! ???: Calm yourself Xavier. No need to start up a fuss. Zen: My name is not Xavier! (He lunges at the chair and heard a whoosh. He had gone right through it. He whipped around and saw him) ???: So you allow me to see you face in your monstrous form and not the face I saw when you were born, and playing as a kit? What a shame. I miss the old you. Always willing to believe what I said. Zen: (he grit his teeth and gave him a cold, dead stare) Maxwell… Maxwell: Ah, so lovely you recognized me. Zen: (he was about to lunge once more but stopped himself) What are you going to do to me? There’s always a catch, there always has been just like the millions of time you lied to me to make me and my warren suffer! What do you want from me!? Maxwell: Nothing at all. Zen: (he lunged at Maxwell only to miss) Maxwell: You’ve been bad haven’t you? You nearly ripped off Wigfrid’s arm and now you’ve cause Wilson and Wes to fight. (He swept his hand to show Zen what had happened and what was happening now) Zen: I didn’t do that. Plus it doesn’t help the fact that I know you are a selfish liar… Maxwell: (chuckles) Don’t believe me? Well then I guess I will have to punish you. Zen: For what?! Not giving you the words you want to hear?! Not satisfying you by believing every stupid lie that comes out of your big fat lips!? Maxwell: I guess you still haven’t learned to respect me no matter how idiotic the reason is. Very well. I guess I will just have to show you to do so. (He snapped his fingers) (Note to self: switch back to the fight) Zen: (he got up as the sleep dart wore off. He felt a pulse before he lost control and suddenly lunged with his claws extended and his mouth wide open, ready to chomp at Wes on impact) Wilson: (he saw Zen aiming for Wes) WES LOOK OUT! Wes: (He froze confused) Wilson: (He jumped forward and shoved Wes out of the way of Zen) Zen: (He sank his claws into the flesh of Wilson’s arm and ripped half his arm off with a loud crack as his teeth broke the bone from holding the two parts of Wilson’s arm together) Wilson: (With his bleeding arm and his hand he grabbed Zen’s face. He had pain in his eyes and had tears of pain down his face in which he couldn’t hold back no matter how hard he tried) Zen listen! Listen, this isn’t you! Zen wake up! Zen! (He shook Zen but not violently, just enough to try and make Zen snap out of it. Wes & Wigfrid: (They sat in horror) Webber: (He was crying. *Note to self/reader: Webber hates violence because it reminds him of how he got here in the first place, therefore making him cry and because he thinks something horrible will happen if there is any violence. This is a note to myself simply so I remember to write that part and not forget about my ideas.) Stop! Zen: (His vision slowly became more and more clear. He saw what he was doing, he reared back in a millisecond. He stood frozen as he stared at Wigfrid and her badly torn up arm, and then at Wes. He saw Wes with bruises on his face. Then he stared at Wilson. He saw Wilson’s arm badly bleeding, a part of his arm ripped off, a bloody nose along with a trail down his chin from his mouth, and multiple bruises on his face.) Wilson? Wilson: (he sat and looked at Zen, trying to speak as calmly as possible) Zen… what happened there? Zen: (he felt something drip from his chin and splash a little on his leg. He looked at his feet and glass and saw blood on them. He rubbed a clean part of his leg on his face and then looked at it only to see more blood.) Wilson, please don’t go near me… all of you, please don’t come near or go after me. (He turned and ran as fast as he could) Wilson: ZEN! (He hit up and started spitting as fast as he could, trying to ignore the agonizing pain he was in.) ZEN COME BACK! (Zen was simply a silhouette now because of far he had ran) Zen: (he look back at Wilson as he collapsed but kept calling out. Zen looked down in shame but turned away) I’m sorry Wilson, I’m too deadly… Maxwell: That’s why I need you…. (Zen’s vision flashed back to pitch black with the chair once more) Zen: You need me so you can ruin my life? Maxwell: I didn’t ruin your life. You did. You were the one who ran away. You were the one who disobeyed me. Zen: (He snorted and glared at him) Maxwell: You need to do something for me… Zen: I don’t need to do anything for you. Maxwell: (with a clench if his fist, shadow hands snatched up Zen by the throat and started to choke him out as he dangled) Oh, but you do. Zen: (he kicked as he gaped for air) Maxwell: (he released his grip and the shadow hands disappeared) Zen: (he fell to the ground with a cough) Maxwell: Xavier, you know better than to act like this… Zen: You’re right… in your presence I should be acting worse! (He swiped his sharp claws at Maxwell’s face, leaving a gash.) Maxwell: (he glared at Zen at punched Zen’s throat.) Zen: (he was stunned for a second) Maxwell: (he took advantage of this and grabbed at Zen’s throat and started choking him.) Zen: (he quickly kicked his back legs and forced Maxwell off of him) Maxwell: (He fell back and held his chest as Zen faded away) (It is night) Zen: (he shook his head as he looks back, Wilson is no longer where he was.) Wilson… I’m such a fool…(he sprinted to where he originally was caged. When he reached it, he closed the door and locked and then dug underneath. He filled in the hole and then squeezed his head into the chain collar and around his neck. He lay down and sighed. He felt a tear go down his face.) Zen: How long will it be before they figure out I’m one of his soldiers? Subs: The next morning Wilson: (Note to self: his eyes are closed, therefore the panel is black) Augh… Webber? What did you do? I can’t feel my arm… Webber: Please don’t freak out mister Wilson but…- Wigfrid: Webber, please let me try to explain it to him… Webber: Okay… Wigfrid: There is no easy way to say this no matter what. So forgive me about this… Wilson: I’ll try. Wigfrid: Zen… the accident. You lost too much blood too quickly… you blacked out as you were chasing Zen. The injuries were too severe to try to do anything about your arm, other than keeping it off… Wilson: (he opened his eyes and stared at his arm. He only stare at it. He was surprised at himself for not being surprised.) Wilson: (moment of realization) Where’s Zen?! Wes: Hey Wilson! Your buddy of yours is back and in his rightful place. (his arms are crossed for extra sass. :3 ) Wilson: Where!? Wes: In the cage that you two were in and Wigfrid tried to make Zen kill you. Wilson: (He tried to get up but fell as he forgot he didn’t have a right arm anymore. However he pushed it away and got back up. He sprinted towards the place where he first woke up here. He saw Zen.) Zen! Zen: (he didn’t reply) Wilson: Zen, what’s wrong? (He unlocked the gate and walked in) Zen: No one is around right? Wilson: Yes, no one is. Why? Zen: Promise not to speak of what I’m about to tell you okay? Wilson: I promise. Zen: You know how Wigfrid spoke about how they were getting attacks from Maxwell’s soldiers recently? I… I’m one of them… Wilson: That can’t be true, I know you would never work for Maxwell. You even tell me about how you hate him. Zen: You’re right, I would never work for him… but it’s true. That’s why I attacked you and Wigfrid… I don’t remember doing that but I know it happened. I lost control.. Wilson: (he sat in silence for a few seconds before smiling) That’s okay, I know that you aren’t bad… you just mess up. Nobody can be perfect, no matter what they say or who they are. Zen: (he smiled a little) Thanks… Wigfrid: (she walked up with Wes beside her and Webber hiding behind her. She stared at Zen and grabbed her arm. She looked at Wes as if expecting something.) Wes: (steps forward) Wigfrid and I have been discussing, as kind as she and Webber are, they are having trouble with their trust in Zen. So we came with a solution. The two made a compromise of trusting Zen just enough for this task. If you and Zen can herd the beefalo back into the pen, keep us from getting hurt as we fix the walls, and do this without killing any of the beefalo, we will forgive Zen of his actions. Zen: (stands up) We accept. Wes: (walks over very carefully, as if fearful Zen would snap any moment trying to get Zen’s chains off.) Zen: (he went into calm posture as if he was relaxing to show that even if he was to try and lunge, Wes could easily tell and get away in time. Plus this showed Wes that he wasn’t planning on doing anything to hurt him) Wes: (as soon as he unclipped the collar and chains he backed up quickly.) Okay, we will meet you there. Wilson: (got up, and started walking out of the cage with Zen following him.) Where are the beefalo pens again? Wes: Nearby the farms in that direction. (He pointed to the farm area) Wilson: Thanks. Come on Zen. Zen: (follows) (time skip to when they arrive) Wes: We are going to go get the tools we need. You two go ahead and get started. Wilson: Okay. (he turned to Zen) Zen, I trust you okay? Don’t mess this up. Zen: (he nodded) Wilson: (he started to take some grass out from his pocket and weave it into rope) Zen: (he turned around and looked at the beefalo and snarled, though, he didn’t receive the reaction he expected. The beefalo in the herd only snorted and huffed at him. He ran forward and aimed for the one who looked the biggest and the other beefalo were following, thinking it must be the leader of the herd. If he could herd the highest ranked one, he could get the other in easily. He lunged, forcing his energy down to his legs to create a long and powerful jump. The beefalo threw its head around in fury as Zen hooked his claws on the beefalo’s thick skin. It cried out in anger and started swinging its head back and forth while bucking upwards. Zen lost his grip and was flung into the air. The beefalo waited for him to be in range. The beefalo jumped forward with its massive and heavy body and bucked Zen mid-air. Zen slammed into the hard earth with a loud gasp, the hit and land caused the wind to be knocked out of him.) Wilson: Zen!- Zen: (his voice was wimpy and scratchy) Don’t Wilson! Stay in your role with the rope! Wilson: (he hesitated but stayed put.) Zen: (he was gasping for air as he struggled to get up) Jeese *wheeze* you guys are *wheeze* smarter and *wheeze* stronger than *wheeze* than you look. Zen: (he saw the large and high ranked beefalo kick the dirt and lower it’s head, horns facing him. The beefalo unexpectedly turned around behind the herd and bellowed a loud and fake distress call. The herd panicked and grouped up while the supposed leader quickly ran to the front of the herd again so they would follow it.) Zen: You punk- (he was cut off as the herd trampled over him) Wilson: Zen!! (Wilson stared out trying to see where Zen was in the stampeding herd.) (The head beefalo suddenly kicked hind legs and began circling, dumbfounded.) Wilson: (he looked at the beefalo and noticed some weird dent in the thick fur. He quickly realized it was Zen’s paws and he had tucked in his legs just in time to quickly hook onto the stomach fur of the head beefalo.) Zen: (Zen couldn’t see anything through the thick wool but he kept snapping his jaws at the stomach. Though he was still being careful not to hurt it badly.) Wilson: Zen! Get ready to move the beefalo! Zen: (he loosened his grip and shifted to one side of the beefalo) Wilson: (he pulled out the rope and got ready. He heard multiple pairs of footsteps in the grass but didn’t take his mind off of the beefalo. He waited until the moment was right) Now Zen! Zen: (he took all the strength that he had left and pounded his feet into the beefalo to not only jump off, but to hopefully somewhat stun it or if he was lucky, knock it over. He landed with an awkward roll before skidding on the ground.) Wilson: (he threw the rope but forgot he was missing some of him arm and the rope only landed a few feet away from himself) Crap.. that was a horrible throw… (Luckily the beefalo was too dumbfounded from the trick Zen pulled off and ran away from the noise and into the pen where it knew it was somewhat safer despite the walls being stomped down. The rest of the herd followed its leader in as well) Wes: Forgot about your arm, huh? Wilson: Yeah… Webber: (he saw Zen and hesitated but ran to him anyway. He held Zen’s limp head and stared with some pity.) We spiders know that what you did earlier wasn’t you, I know you would never do that... Zen: (He smiled at Webber’s words and licked his hand since he was too out of breath to reply with words.) Wigfrid: By the way Wilson, do you happened to be educated enough to perform surgery? I know it’s a really silly and random question but still. Wilson: Yes, depending on the type of surgery… why? Wes: She wants to see if you can patch up the part of your arm that was ripped off so you could try to somehow reattach you arm while teaching Webber about it too. Webber has always has always took after Wigfrid when she tries to learn more about medical stuff since none of us know much about it. Wigfrid: Plus he wants to help out people and animals so that too. Webber: (he hugged Zen and smiled) 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/93357-comic-script-chapter-three/ Share on other sites
