Gonhog Posted June 16, 2018 Share Posted June 16, 2018 After looking into compact oxygen production in the forums, I found the percolator, made by Oozinator. you can find the discussion here: I needed a more compact version of this, so I loaded up his save file and experimented around. A few hours later, and viola! the new, and hopefully improved, Percolator. It produces around 290 Kg of oxygen per cycle, enough for 8-10 dupes, easily. It fits perfectly in my basic base layout, occupying three 4x8 rooms. (these 4x8 rooms seem to be the perfect size and reach the maximum size limit for almost all room requirements, I make all my bases with these rooms.) The system is currently running with only 1 wheezwort, and the water that I'm using to cool the electrolyzers goes up by .1 degree F (.05 C) every few seconds, but that can probably be easily remedied by adding another wheezwort in the pot to the right. The thermo sensors that control the temp-doors are set to 45 degrees F (7.2 C), keeping the wheezwort from overcooling the room (something that isn't happening with only one, but will happen with 2) The atmospheric sensor is set to hydrogen, and controls the pump that feeds the hydrogen generators. The smart battery controls the generators, as it should. And that's it! A new, improved, and most importantly, compact oxygen production system for any base! Your right, it would fit even more, but one of the other things I was going for in this design is using the smallest amount of wheezworts possible (because they're important for other things) and also keeping the drip cooling. (because who doesn't like complicated systems?) Nice design though! May look into the separation mechanic further.
