Gas drift right and left fix?

Has anyone experimented with this new behavior?

Yes, put a coal power plant over a chasm with two Chambers and you can see both fill almost equally.

Correct, the gasses still lean in the directions they used to, but someone did a test on something like 50 tiles long, and the hegith difference of a gas from left to right was only a couple of tiles versus the entire corner it usually would be.

i mass cleared out a swamp biome the other day in the preview and ended up with a weird "banding" of oxygen/pO2 forming. i did put deoderizers out at intervals, so it formed layers of oxygen and squished the pO2 into layers in between them. if i didn't go put deoderizers in those bands too, they would have stayed forever

 

definitely not right/left, but seems like a different kind of not-quite-right side effect

 It takes awhile,  but eventually those bands will combine and move to the correct gas layer.  It just is rather slow to do a lot of vertical merging.   I had the same thing with a huge chlorine and hydrogen chamber that was well mixed when the map started.  Took almost 8 cycles but eventually it cleared up
