Is there any way to prevent Klau's loot stash from spawning in certain spots?

Recommended Posts

I play on PS4, I tried asking in the PS4 section before regarding this issue - some players have told me to stay "away" from my base in the Deciduous biome so it doesn't spawn in there, they said that it will 100% spawn in the Mosaic biome at all times if I stay away from Deciduous, but I don't think this is legit... I tried this a few times and it ALWAYS spawn in the Deciduous biome, even if I'm in the caves all summer long. I think the loot stash spawns randomly whether you're in the Mosaic biome or Deciduous... I don't mind if it spawns in the Deciduous biome as long as it's NOT in front of my base, inside my base... I tried stoping the loot stash from spawning in this particular spot (pict: 0UczXpV.jpg)

because it has caused major damage to my base a few times when I fight Klaus in here. It worked for me for a while after I placed flowers and walls.. it hasn't spawned in this area for about 2 months, but today this happened.... (recent pict above)

I was wondering what I can do in this spot for it to NEVER spawn the loot stash in that spot again.... any suggestion?

Your problem is that walls don't count as a structure in code. Use something like signs (not mini signs), ice boxes, fire pits, fossil mounds, lightning rods, chests, spider dens, or other things the game tags as structures.

The way it works is it finds an available spawn location with the lowest number of nearby structures. By nearby I mean withing a radius of 5 wall spaces, so pretty much on top of it. If you're standing near the spawn location (35 wall space radius iirc) while it tries to spawn, the game forces it in a new location. Just chuck down an ocuvigil near the spawn locations you don't put structures at so you don't have to be there to see it.

Edit: should probably clarify your misconceptions: staying "away" from a klaus sack spawn location does absolutely nothing.

This setup is what I used to test, all locations have this setup except one which has no nearby structures:

The klaus sack will never spawn here because there is a preferable location with no nearby structures.

Thanks, just as I thought that some people were giving false information on the PS4 section. I sort of knew that the loot stash spawns randomly regardless of your whereabouts. But the guy who told me to stay away from Deciduous biome kept insisting it's legit....

I will try this out and see how it goes.

For this spot, once again, walls don't count as structures. It doesn't matter how many spawn locations you put a structure near as long as the spot/spots you want it to spawn at have the smallest number of nearby structures. If you already have all the spots you don't want it to spawn at marked with walls, I recommend removing the walls and putting a structure in their place. Don't forget it has to be within a 5 wall space radius of the sacks spawn location. Here's a list of things the game tags as a structure https://pastebin.com/vSmsAPPS
