In all seriousness though, I do like this suggestion. Crossing extendable bridges would function exactly like crossed bridges currently, they would not interact. I get tired of cutting multiple lanes of ventilation pipes to bridge through a new perpendicular pipeline, and temporarily cutting off critical functions such as generator exhausts and O2 supply.

You can already cross bridges. Nothing special happens, they all work as intended.

Yeah, I'd like longer bridges too. Or a special build command where dupes would replace part of a pipe with a bridge without losing the contents or stopping the flow.

I have suggested this a long time ago, too.

The only reason I found by then to perhaps avoid adding them to the game was their thermal interaction. A longer bridge would interface with four or more tiles at once, reaching through walls. But I guess with tempshift plates interfacing with five tiles at once that's not such a big deal.
