Some Quick Questions

I've played this game like 80 hours so I consider myself to be very new. My latest base is at cycle 150-ish right now but I still have a lot of things I'm not sure/don't understand how it actually works. Some of these questions can be easily answered if I use debug mode, but I prefer not to use debug mode so please bear with me : )

Ok let's get start.

 

1. I notice that when I pumped CO2 to my Hydrogen Generator, I get 'wrong element damage' notification. Of course my HG took some damage, but what about CO2 that I pumped in? Was it destroyed? Was it stuck in my HG until I deconstruct it?

 

2. What is the difference between geyser and fumarole?

 

3. How should I process polluted water with food poisoning germ in it?

 

4. Currently I use 2 Natural Gas Generators, 6 Fertilize Synthesizers, 1 Carbon Skimmer, 1 Gas Pump and 1 Liquid Pump to produce power. This nets me around 280W (I believe it's more than that because Carbon Skimmer is not always active). I'm considering adding another NGG and 3 FS to generate even more power. Is this ok? or am I wasting pollute water and a bit of clean water here?

 

5. Should I use Farm Station? I tried it once but it took a lot of my dupes times that I'm not sure it's worth it.

 

6. How should I ranch Puffs and Slicksters? The room must contain PO2 / CO2 right? Won't my ranchers get sicked from Slimelung / suffocate to death while they're grooming those critters?

 

7. Iron Ore? Wolframite? Are they any good?

 

8. In what world should I use Shower, Hand Sanitizer or Ore Scrubber?

1. gas is destroyed

2. geyser emits liquid, fumarole emits gas, and volcanos emit molten rock/metal

3. heat it with a liquid tepidizer

4. find a natural gas fumarole to help add gas or switch to other sources

5. no if you are farming mealwood, yes for others

6. add a water airlock and exosuits

7. Yes but use wolframite sparingly as it's rare

8. I never use them.  Showers are currently useless, bleach stone is limited, and ore scrubbers remove a limited amount of germs

A good thing about iron and wolframite if their high melting points, especially wolframite, if you ever plan to delve into a volcano etc and make use of it. But like mentioned, wolframite is very rare. try to also keep some copper for exo suits.

You dont need to process it if you are not going to cook with it. That is make liceloaf or mush bars. And you should anyways avoid to make this foods.

Showers when you want to waste water and dupe time or you want to produce polluted water. 

Hans Sanitizers you can use if you feel like it, I use them time to time. Bleach stone will last long time as long as you store them under water. 

Ore Scrubbers I have use 1 once. To destroy chlorine gas. But I have never use it for intended purpose.

You can use the showers with a water sieve in a closed cycle to save water.

Germs in the water do not matter, Dupes can not get infected by a shower.
