My girlfriend suggested to make my colony gluten free, so ... maybe add some different harder to grow grains?

The question is, do they even contain gluten? This is not earth. Pincha peppers as well? Infinitely sustainable mealwood farm XD

I would like to see new plants, but with eggs just being released I think Meat and Eggs will be the new food for a bit

You could also grow bristle berries and make gristle berries, but that's only a quality of +1.  You might have make stuffed berries (+4) for your more stressed dupes, but I personally don't like making them because they are so much more expensive than pepper bread.

It would be nice to see a wider variety of plants too.

Apart from that, I think eggs and bbq might be the best option in the upcoming Rancher update.  Of course, unless they change something, eggs will be the new meal lice, but with a bit of quality.

This is a little nonsensical. However....

Since most of these crops are from SPPAAAcCCCeeee! They probably do not obey the normal chemical and nutritional values of Earth Plants. It's not "wheat" it's "Sleet Wheat". Much like "Sweet Breads" are not "bread" and "Rocky Mountain Oysters" are not "oysters".

Additionally, the duplicants have obviously been genetically engineered to survive off a wide variety of food and food-like items. Mush bars are made of Space Dirt and Water. Literally dirt and water. That's gluten-free, maybe you could limit your dupes to that?

Anyways, you can probably tell your girlfriend, with all seriousness, and all truthfulness, the entire menu of available items in Oxygen Not Included are gluten-free. Even if I can't.

Its not the dirt you are eating, but the microbes in it, hence the machine is called a microbe musher? but you are correct about everything haha

but it's called wheat ... should have wheat protein or is it unrelated asteroid grain? anyways, I promised to bring it up

maybe those with irritable bowel should have some allergies as well random maybe. so they need to go to sick-bay when they eat to much of the wrong ingredients

also: I just had one dupe both with Irritable Bowel and an Iron Gut. what's up with that?

I've never seen a duplicant with the celiac drawback, so I don't think going gluten free will help.  Dietary restrictions might make for interesting duplicant variations though!
