Power Plant Room

Recommended Posts

The issue most people have with the Power Plant is that it not only takes forever to actually install the Microchip for the Tune Up, but the effect continues to count down while the Generator in question is idle.

Ultimately it's just an underdeveloped reason for the Engineer Job line to exist.  Rather than gating the operation of specific machines behind the Engineer job, for example.  The Granulator should require Engineer T1, and the Refinery T2, for example.  Petro Generator should be T2.  Oil Refinery T1.  Etc.  Same thing should be true for the Builder line, as well.

I like what Phail has said and I do agree that technology should be tiered. Personally I have never used the chip upgrade either, I think it would only have merit if you tune up a device you know will always be on, or use automation to force it to be on for the duration (Otherwise its wasted) and if you do not have a volcano, It should only ever be used in case of emergency, and I would rather have another generator ready than rely on the upgrade.

I guess it depends. If you have a metal volcano, I don't see any reason why you would not use the tune up in late game, especially on petroleum generators and possibly on steam turbines.

And yes, the rooms are too small. I'm usually forced to make the rooms artifically smaller by building tiles where ever I can.
