Stoof
Hi, first time posting here, hopefully not the last. I'm looking the specs of a simple water cooling system to start growing sleet wheat. I'm on cycle 150ish and have most research unlocked, but don't have very many wheezeworts on the map that I have found yet. My base is struggling a little on temp but am keeping it just in check. Just got exo suits going but they are mainly busy getting natural gas power up and running (first time doing that so hopefully it doesn't melt) which is really far out from my base. Haven't found a water geyser yet so am only looking to cool from about 30 degrees. Thanks for any help. Lutzkhie
aquatuners will do but require high power AETN is good alternative but you need hydrogen, just make a radiator or supercooled wheezewort chamber Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/88427-looking-a-simple-water-cooling-system/#findComment-1012408 Share on other sites
Kasuha
Using exploits, or not using exploits? Simplest stable solution that does not rely on exploits is taming a geyser in tight abyssalite chamber and getting the steam just condensed with wheezeworts or just with the other water it produces. That will result in water around 95 C. The point here is stability, this water will always be that temperature. Then pass this water through series of 5 or 6 aquatuners to get water at 25 or 11 C, respectively. It may sound like a lot of power, but plants don't really need it that much and your aquatuners will be far from running continuously. Here's an example of farm with sleet wheat and bristle blossoms that keeps my 8 duplicants fed and happy. It uses five aquatuners and they process about one packet of water each every 15 seconds. Of course you need to take care of the heat produced by them, one option is to cool them with polluted water you're going to feed to your fertilizer synthesizers. If you don't have issues with exploits, I guess build a Borg cube, or some kind of wheezewort cooler for your water pool. Stoof
Thanks for the help, looks like aquaturners it is. Trying to stay away from the borg cube. Zarquan
One thing that I don't see very much is people taking advantage of the free liquid cooling you can get from natural gas generators. You can run the polluted oxygen runoff over aquatuners or thermoregulators. Though this might have the drip cooling bug in it, it would work to some extent without it if you keep your natural gas generators cold. I usually heat my polluted water from around -10-0C to around 100C. I then feed it to a fertilizer synthesizer or boil it to clean it and feed it to an electrolyzer, depending on what I need.
