You see i'm having fun emptying the map i'm on since quite a long time already and i need transformers for power issues as you can imagine... Here is the probleme. I thought the transormers restricted power to 1KW. But does it ? At the moment since the occupational upgrade my transformers are full all the time and my wires keep melting when i go with more than 1KW used. I also noticed that wire bridges are the first ones to melt btw... Any ideas ? I know i can always restrict power usage and make more reasonnable circuits but i'm confused . . . 2ki Posted February 15, 2018 Share Posted February 15, 2018 iirc transformers could output up to 4kw per line however that will damage the line, they can safely output 1kw using wire or 2kw using conductive wire. Logicsol Posted February 16, 2018 Share Posted February 16, 2018 The quirk with transformers is that they send power in 1kw pulses, at up to 4 pulses per second. So you can't use them as a limiter, but rather as a step down. You still need to ensure less than your wiring's load is being used on that section of the circuit. The other bit of the quirk is they need a battery after the transformer if you use any building that take more than 1kw, as those won't power off a 1kw pulse.
