Sensors for pipes

Recommended Posts

It would be great if we could have sensors for pipes. I would like to set up a pressure valve. If I had a sensor that measured the amount of liquid at a certain point in the pipe I could do this.

Perhaps you could just allow us to connect the current hydro sensor. Just let us place it on a pipe so that it measures the amount of liquid that's present in the pipe at that point.

+1 for this. Perhaps two types: Level and flow sensors. Level sensors measure how full a segment of pipe is relative to its capacity, and flow sensors measure how fast material is flowing through the pipes. In combination, you could use these to detect when a pipe is blocked (full, no flow) or starved (empty, no flow) or when a consumer is taking more resources than expected (flow above some threshold).

For what use? Thinking about burst pipes maybe? But these san be done even now

I have a few self contained systems that outputs additional water over time. Atm I am manually checking when the pipes become full so that I can manually let out the excess water. It would be much easier to have a sensor that I can use to make a system that detects when the pipes have gotten full and then automatically releases the excess water. So if you have found a way to do this please let me know.
