Nothing has changed with regards to save file location in the new update.

On Windows the folder should be under:

	C:\Users\Username\Documents\Klei\DoNotStarveTogether

On GNU/Linux under:

	~/.klei/DoNotStarveTogether

i know where the save file location is, but which file is the save file, and how do i copy it?

Inside you will find the folders Cluster_1, Cluster_2, ..., depending on how many games you have saved. These folders correspond to your saved games which show up when you click on "Host Game". The first slot will correspond to Cluster_1, etc.

Since each such folder (saved world) contain many files I suggest making a copy of the whole DoNotStarveTogether folder. If you do that you can be sure that you made a backup of all the files and settings.

ah i see now

thanks for the help!

In each "cluster folder" you'll find a file called cluster.ini, which will tell you more about the game world (it can be opened in any text editor), if you want to inspect the saved game further.

You can stick to making backups of the "cluster folders" if you only care about the server data. Note that things like how how much of the map a player has explored are saved on the client side, that is, in the client folder (atleast I think so).

Good luck!
