1x2 Filter

Input and selected gas output only.
It would make this possible:

A, B, C, D = any selected gas to filter.
With the normal filter to do something like this we would need a lot of space.

How frequency you get at your gas pump mixture of 3 and more gases? Usually, i work with a mixture of 2 gases.

Another proposition to add new and redundant item to cover one specific situation.

I'm very opposed to such ideas because adding more items only reduce performance.

Just one problem, to do this would require a rework to the pipe system. And this seem like a lot of work just cuz you don't like to use 1x3 filters. So if you really want this, you are going to have to find a better reason than "it makes things easier".

Also such a rework will make filters pointless as every building will then only receive the correct gas/liquid and never break.

It can even be more compact by rotating every second filter by 180* and use bridges on filtered outputs.

Tried that and it's the exact same width.

Edit:
For 2 filter outputs sure this is the best, but once you try to chain them to be 3 or more the one above is pretty much as small as it gets.

 

Edit 2: Facepalm, yeah this one is smaller than the original one I posted lol, 4 outputs in 8 width instead of 3.

Yeah that's still 8 wide, the updated one I posted is also 8 wide and doesn't use bridges so less resources

Nice and compact design that is more flexible then that in initial post.
