Gas Pipe Breaks Because Content Is Too Cold

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, I have another conundrum.

In trying to cool my hot base with cool oxygen, I used 9 thermal regulators to get the oxygen really cold before it's released into the environment. Upon leaving the 2nd to last thermal regulator, the gas pipe keeps breaking. It says "This building received damage from pipe contents becoming too cold." Is anybody able to explain what I'm doing wrong? I apologize if this should be an obvious answer, I've always had trouble finding the sense that's common to people. Still, I appreciate any help that comes.

Well, it just mean that the oxygen turn into a liquid wich breah your air pipe. Look at the oxygen in the pipe before a thermal regulator, then look at it after : it cooler of X°C. Look at the liquifaction temperature of O2 ....

You can switch of some thermal regulator using automaton, but you must bypass them.

Hope this is not too much spoiler. Ask for more help if you need some.

Pretty much everyone has pipes in their house which contain a mixture of liquid and gas, so it's perhaps not immediately obvious that since pipes in ONI are specifically gas or liquid pipes, that turning a gas in a gas pipe into a liquid would break the gas pipe; I'm not sure if that behavior is explained anywhere in any descriptions.

Other than it being called a gas pipe there is no other information, But yeah you cannot have the wrong element state in the wrong pipe, so fluids cannot be in gas pipes and vice versa, if you do it will break either because it is too cold (Turned to liquid or solid) or too hot (Turned to gas)
