help [big project] help with inventory lights and something no 1 else has done with mods befor plz

ok so ive had this idea to put my favrout teddy in to the game sooty and wanted him to have a 2 slot inventory 
1 slot can only have hat items in it
the other slot 
can only have hand equpable items in it

and what ever items he was holding it woud work as if the player was holding them 
(like if u gave him a dark sword + mining helmit it will work just like the player wearing the items) 

ive got no clue what im doing and im well in over my head but ive been working on this since juliy and with my mate thats helping me having no free time to attchlery help code it with me (he still gives me advice when he can) ive got no idea what to do and its starting to upset me that nothing is working so can some 1 plx help or give me a push in what im doing wrong?

and befor some 1 says look at other ppls code / mods ive been doing that all this time S:
