Bristle berries issues.

Recommended Posts

How did this plant even evolve? I have seen maybe one harvestable in the wild and that was within the first 30 days of a map. The temp range on them is 18C and cooling buildings reduce it by 14.   Plus you need light and dupes adding fertilizer both of which add heat to the area. Really need to adjust the growing requirements for them. Willing to bet almost no one tries to grow them.

yeah the requirement a little bit too much, but bristle is end game food
right now not much incentive to farm them, people just stick with mealwood

the issue i think there not much gain we acquire to farm the berries/sleetwheat
this already been discuss many times, all we can do wait klei update the game balance on the future

but if you willing to farm this plant, there a lot easy way workaround to maintain temperature. pressure, fertilizer, light and water

this maybe because there no light around except from that small creature light bug
for wild growth it takes 16 cycle (doesnt need fertilizer or water) just good temp, and light
for domestic, it will be faster 4 cycles for 1600 kcal food

I've built chain of 4 thermo regulators (and thermo switch to prevent overcooling). Separated regulators and plants with insulated tiles.

My bristle blossoms feel good, grow very fast and produce crazy amount of calories. Though hydroponic farms eat up water supplies quite fast, so cooling geyser water will be a necessity soon.

It's a relatively good endgame plant, it's just terrible for that short time when you haven't researched everything yet and didn't cap at least one natural gas geyser and at least one water geyser.

While it's not worth farming over mealwood (nothing is), it's clearly better than sleet wheat and can be better than mushrooms if you've got the water to spare.
