asveron
Sorry duplicate topic. Go here: Has Klei ever mentioned what their plans for the powered doors are? I don't even know what plugging electricity does right now. It seems like you should do everything possible to avoid accidentally plugging in metal doors. It seems to do everything without power right now. Even if powered doors required power to open at all, they still cost way too much power. I would second guess myself even for 40volts. Maybe powered doors should 1. Guarantee no airflow occurs. 2. Open before dupes walk up to it so they don't wait at all 3. Open / Lock / Close without a duplicant needing to manually do it. 4. Cost significantly less power to use. 5. Lose a substantial number of functions without power. I feel like fridges have sort of the same problem too. It's unrealistic to use power for a lot of fridges. People tend to cool it or put it in carbon. brummbar7
when/if Klei ever implements a speed difference, that will be plenty to compel people to power the doors.
