Is it possible to make item increasing the map reveal range when equiped ?

Like the pirate hat in shipwrecked ? Or item revealing a part of the map, like the spyglass ? I think it could create interestings options but DS and DST code are different and i don't know how it's working on DST.

I guess the cartographer is a good way to start as it is doing basically that. Revealing parts of the map you did not visit.
