Oxygen generation

Recommended Posts

Electrolyzers are ideal, to the point that players often rush Percolation to get electrolytic O2 running from the start. (This can be easier to do if you are avoiding using more than a few terraria, because they require more maintenance than a deoxydizer.) Having some algae for emergencies and for tunnels is nice but not essential.

As an added tip - make sure you use your early Oxylite smartly - you can last to cycle 20-30 (depending how much you started with) without building any oxygen production whatsoever.

Hm... I don't think so.

All my bases ran out of oxygen in the first 20 cycles with only 4 or 5 dupes. Oxylite tiles can only emit for 3 or 4 cycles when unfettered. Even with 5 or 6 dupes I need to dig in the others biomes to get Alguae after ~35 cycles.

The main goal in a new game is to rush the search that enable to create an electrolyzer system before ~40 cycles. After that, it'll be hard to maintain the oxygen flow in your base. If you think that one is not suffisant, you can make a second electrolyzer but, don't forget to add air pump, cause in case of overpressure it'll not be more efficient.
