MissMomo
Okay this isbdriving me nuts. No matter what I do my powerlines overload. I had a line going from a battery to a heater, That was the only thing on that line, and it still overloaded. When I looked closerbit said the line was drawing 1100 watts despite the heater saying it was only drawing 5 watts. The line only goes straight to the battery and the battery is only connected to a generator and other batteries. I honestly don't get this. No matter how I arrange my buildings the lines overload, what's going on? Left4twenty
A picture of your set up would be most helpful, but I think just from your description, you may have all the batteries on the same circuit? MissMomo
It's happened in every game I've played so there would be like 20 different pictures if I had any. But there's one wire going from the generators to the batteries, then 4 or 5 different wires emanating from the batteries to different things. The batteries aren't connected to each other directly, but I suppose they could be considered connected through their connection to the generators. But the batteries should be like one way gates for electricity shouldn't they? Risu
If it's connected, it's one circuit. Simple as that. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/77456-powerlines/#findComment-900226 Share on other sites
MissMomo
So what do I do then? Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/77456-powerlines/#findComment-900303 Share on other sites
clamjam
Create different power grids, use a different battery bank for each circuit, and keep the power consumption beneath 1 kW or 2 kW (depending on the type of wire you are using) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/77456-powerlines/#findComment-900308 Share on other sites

I'll let you stew on that one for a minute Batteries don't have an input and output - they're inline and that's it. Tamber
Note that you can use power switches to isolate networks (at least while they're off). The micromanaging gets old after a while, but you can have separate battery banks that you can rotate through to charge. This works particular well with low-draw circuits, like doors, or your hydrogen gas pump at the top of your base.
