Wyrinn
I love this game, but since its in development and not everything is implimented (That and im a bad player) after more dead duplicants then i can count i started looking into how to hack the save file. I was successfull and i wanted to share those results here. But i also dont what to step on any toes or upset the developers. Thus i wanted to make sure it would be ok first. Saturnus
But why? You can edit pretty much everything through the debug control that is part of the alpha build. And why share a hacked save file? Does it show any interesting new concept or techniques on getting long term sustainability that you couldn't show off by taking screenshot? Risu
There actually is one particular feature you can enable by hex editing the save. Most likely going to corrupt the save if you don't know what you're doing but if you study the save structure you'll find the Manual Generator has 2 upgrades waiting to be moved from the available upgrades hashset to the current upgrades hashset. Double the storage capacity (which it doesn't even have) and a bonus 20% energy production (which does function in game). The only things ive found with the debug console that i can play with (and not cause a crash) creating resources with various values. Spawning random duplicant, And force building something. As for what i do with hexedit and what i intended to share was how to adjust the stat values of duplicants. That is all i have had success in. 55 minutes ago, Risu said: There actually is one particular feature you can enable by hex editing the save. One thing i did discover is any edit will "Corupt the save" but if you save two copies of the same info, the earlier copy wont read as croupted. (Ie save 1 is orignal. Save 2 and save 3 are same edit. Save 2 will read, save 3 will say corupt. ) I did not know about the Manual generator upgrade though. Though my skills are limited. I will have to see if i can find that. If you were able to PM me with info how, i would be greatfull but dont feel you have too.
