Ecu Posted February 28, 2017 Share Posted February 28, 2017 I think this essentially represents a bug, though I could be wrong. I've had one spawn near my start and I dug it out. It slowly sucks in (and destroys) all gas. Normally this only exists on the surface of the map. If these are intentionally spawns (and not a bug), I suppose they could represent naturally formed paths to the outside of the asteroid and as such a path to the vacuum of space.
