Queue and full servers

Recommended Posts

Personaly I think that both of these ideas are not worth implementing, because:

Queue is just not needed. Joining already super populated servers without PvP turned on is just pointless. Everyone hopes that friendly people will help a newcomer(who probably also is a newbie) to git gud. But here's what Im saying: No good player will bother carrying worthless casuals on his back. It only seems exciting for those who are riding backs of others!  Though carrying experienced casuals or just *their ham bat is smaller than mine* kind of guys is relatively fun and adds to todo list. Finding those in a friendly mud on a dedicated servers is unlikely though.

Also, currently those 3 servers you named are using voting system, which gets abused by plenty of ... bikers (joke related to south park) who invade worlds with their friends and reset 'em. That also adds against the odds of experienced players coming there. Learning in big groups is also wrong, since noone thinks well within the herd.

First of all, with the current voting system, dedis are not a good place to be. It's a crude generalisation, apologies for that, but ever since the votekick and voteregen were introduced on them, griefing seems to happen much less often on hosted servers (judging by the experiences of my friends, fellow hosts and yours truly).

Klei could see about more servers if they have funds to burn, BUT! As long as there's no admin on them, you will just have the same issue of a no man's land. Ave would have more luck with unofficial EU servers like Raoglu's or mine since they have moderation and voting is disabled.

A queue sounds a bit odd, because if some server is full, it usually means the new player would see the portal area razed to the ground. I'd suggest looking for worlds with a faster regeneration rate to make up for more players. A queue implies the server is wonderful and that isn't necessarily a bad thing. The possible lag of people just hanging in the lobby would be a problem though.
