Dragonfly Lavae kill themselves now?

me and my friend tried to kill the dragonfly earlier today on the PS4 version, we built the stone wall base to avoid lavae to get the easy kill, but suddenly he went enraged and killed us both. We blamed it on Abigail because my friend was Wendy.

I then tried again by myself after we revived and prepared. But this time, I was noticing that the lavae just suddenly combust and die around the walls while they try to get me. they died from absolutely nothing. So then, of course, the dragonfly went rage mode again and killed me.

For the PS4, we just received the New Reign update. So I am assuming, is this a change for the New Reign? Did they purposely destroy this method so the dragonfly will be super difficult? Has anyone else noticed this recently?

Assuming that you meant killing dfly in DST:

To avoid enrage dragonfly must be disabled (stunned, frozen; Im not using pan flute so not sure about sleep(though moaning of bearger doesnt put her asleep)) or have HP low enough to start next transition at the moment when last lavae dies(transition can start before last lavae dies if dps is high). Enrage also will wear off if she begins transition, so its not the end of the world (you also can dodge her hits, but enrage is still alot more scary than normal state). If your dps is lower then ~3x dps output(wolfgang 2x, wigfrid 1.25x, those numbers), you risk hitting enrage before she begins the transition. In that case you are unlikely to stun her in final phases as well, especially if one will be kiting the lavae. Theres alot of possible options, but since you've chosen tanking her behind walls - just make sure to freeze her(using blue staves or flingomatics) before the last lavae dies. You can keep her frozen by freezing her during first 10 seconds of freeze(during first 10 seconds you can refresh the duration of it, then ice starts to tremble for 10 seconds - freezing during this time will break the ice).

the method is still useful and good

you just need to pan flute the guy

Isnt the Pan Flute a super limited item though? Like i only have 1 mandrake in my map, so that makes 2 pan flutes including the one thats by glommer. Unless there is a way to repair it?

How many uses of the ice staff does it take to freeze the sucker? Also, how do you freeze her with the flingomatic? That seems like the easiest way.

you just drop burnable items near her lol

Whats the world setting if huge then prolly 1-5 mandrakes I think, but Wickerbottom basically has a renewable Pan flute exclusively to her self tho

Do you know if the flingomatic method works, if there is a stone firepit and i just fly her right above it, add a piece of grass or something to the pit so it activates the flingomatic shooting a snowball, She would be right on top of it right? So would it freeze her? Wickerbottom seems great tbh. I should try her if i ever end up reseting this world

Wickerbottom is like OP in general due to her books but never did the method really

I mostly Spartan kite the dragonfly which I build the walls first then remove every turd around the area where dragonfly can move and just replace it with cobblestone roads

but there is another method where bunnymen just stunlock her into a position forgot but someone here made a video about it

Better burn items like cut grass(not the stack, but, like, 30 pieces in 30 stacks). Flingomatic will throw initial snowball when you burn the item, then items around it will start smoldering and flingo will shoot snowballs at them! I reco, mend using 2 flingomatics.
