justacpa
Please explain what this statement means. "Caves and Volcanoes are merged over as well when merging a Survival world with a Shipwrecked world."
Developer Ipsquiggle Posted October 17, 2016 Developer Share Posted October 17, 2016 When you use the Seaworthy to join a Shipwrecked save slot with a Survival save slot, it basically takes all the save files from one slot and moves them to the other. Previously, if you joined a SW game to an existing Survival game, any caves that you had explored in that save would be erased rather than moved over. So if you had explored the caves under your forest, after using the Seaworthy from a Shipwrecked map, you would discover that the caves were regenerated. Now it's fixed, and you get whatever caves/ruins/volcanoes along with the forest or islands that you're merging, so that any progress in the caves is also saved. justacpa
So, if I subsequently world hop in SW, are the caves map RoG reset/regenerated? And conversely, if I worldhop in RoG, is the cave map reset?

justacpa
I'm not talking about at the time of merging, I'm referring to points in time afterwards when you world hop by using the telportato.
Developer Ipsquiggle Posted October 17, 2016 Developer Share Posted October 17, 2016 @justacpa If you world hop using the teleportato, it will currently regenerate only the shipwrecked/survival "half", that is, either the forest+caves (if you use the forest teleportato) or islands+volcano (if you use the shipwrecked teleportato). However... At least that's what it's supposed to do. Just looking at the code to confirm this, and it looks like both caves and volcanos are regenerated no matter which teleportato you use. I'll put that on the bug list.
justacpa
Thank you for the clarification, even though I and some others prefer the way it works now.
