So how did the SW characters get tricked into the Don't Starve world?

I was wondering recently how Walani, Warly, Wilbur, and Woodlegs got tricked into the Don't Starve world, but I couldn't really think of any ways. Any ideas?

Walani - "Say pal, seems like your beach has become private property. I could get you somewhere great, filled with waves for you to catch..."

Warly - "Say pal, you don't look so good. Would you like to go somewhere where you'd have a new chance at living?"

Wilbur - *throws bananas on portal to the island*

Woodlegs - "Say pal, your boat doesn't look so good. But I know a place where you'll have your old boat with you, and many, many more..."

The game doesn't really tell of how anyone except Wilson got into those worlds. All the characters are troubled though and probably got tricked because they were offered something they wanted. Like perhaps some bravery for Wolfgang.
