Jozroz
My PC is not quite strong enough for smooth gameplay, is there any way for me to transfer a save from my PC to my friend's one and make him the host? I have also thought about dedicated servers, wondering if there's any way for me to get a third party location to host it. I am willing to pay third party services. However, I have read that time continues ticking when nobody is present, can that be avoided? Tsmuji
I'm not much use for the first part of your question, but as regards time running in the server's settings.ini file under [network] you can give the option: pause_when_empty = true which does pretty much what it says. If it's set to true then whenever there are zero players on the server time will pause. Arlesienne
You COULD try copying the cluster to another computer, although there is no guarantee. An adminlist.txt could be needed or it may not work at all. Regarding third party hosting, care to elaborate? Through a note perhaps. We could see if I can help. There are companies hosting dedis, just take a look into Server Bulletin, but just a sufficient machine is a solution most of the time if you do not want anything crazy. Tumalu
I've changed hosts before (and fairly recently, the filenames have changed over the course of DST's history), if you just copy the save data over you're golden. I'd be more specific but I can't seem to remember exactly where the save data -is- because I can't find mine right now. :T Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/67849-migrate-dst-save-to-another-pc-and-steam-user/#findComment-779267 Share on other sites
