Low performance and cloud

Recommended Posts

Hello,

since I've reached day 24 with my girlfriend and the winter came to us, we're unable to play. I host game from my laptop which is quite good for thiis game. intel core i5 4200h 2,8 GHZ, 16 GB ram, geforce GTX 850m. Internet is quite good to. When I host game on my computer on the same internet there is no such a problem.

Also I've seen some topics about cloud. There are no answers in it. Is there cloud in this game? Or I have to copy my save files all the time from my PC to laptop.

From the sound of it you're suffering from framerate issues.

You can view your framerate by using Steam's overlay feature (Shift+Tab is default), choosing settings (bottom middle), In-game tab, and then selecting a position for the In-game FPS counter.

If it is framerate issues, then I would look at any mods you may be using, such as the minimap or health info mod, and see if disabling them helps.

Otherwise your GPU might not be capable of handling the shaders the game is using to render the snow layer

This game doesn't have Steam Cloud enabled, so unfortunately you'll need to keep copy pasting the files or look for third party programs to have a file sync between the two machines.

Your specs are fine. What really tends to count is your RAM. I saw a drastic improvement after switching from a powerful machine with 16 RAM to an even mightier one with twice as much. Now I get 60 FPS all the time and can hold 16 players without breaking a sweat. You should see about disabling unnecessary processes and host yourself (I understand only your fianceé is having problems). List which mods you use and your server settings. Frog rain, tumbleweeds and giants tend to make a difference. The same applies to map sizes and the number of shards. When you have it all, please come here so that we can help more.

Servers are linked to the machine. Hence you need to copy your Cluster_X where X is the number of the slot it uses to the other machine. All Steam Workshop mods will redownload, but you will have to enable them on the server.

I have same ammount of RAM on my PC and it's working fine there. Framerate is low and because of low performance of game my server performance is low too. Everyone who joins me will have lags.

I'm not using mods.

I want to try to host game with dedi server and check if then it will work properly... but, when I transfer my save to MyDediServer->Master->Save->session it's still hosting a new world. What and where should I exactly transfer?
