What do you lot think about the idea of illness in Don't Starve?

I'm going to have say no. Following what Gyths said, unless WX gains some special weakness to certain diseases for some reason, he will become the most OP character of all, especially since he is already one of the three best characters, tied with Wolfgang, and Wickerbottom. (Wigfridge is excluded because reasons)

Being hurt from "dirty" monsters (Spiders, werepigs, tentacles, merms, ect.) has a chance to infect you with a random sickness of the following list: Small pox, basically poison from SW only slower and with red dots all over your character. Common cold, makes you cough/sneeze causing your character to stop what they're currently doing. Sneezing can also get onto mobs and food making them unclean. Unclean mobs drop unclean food in which when eaten will hurt sanity as if eating raw meat (-10) (You can't be infected with this sickness if it's spring/summer.)  Silk spiral syndrome (Webber only), causes the player to constantly grow an elongated silk beard which slows the player along with more insulation. Shaving will be impossible due to how thick the silk is. After ten days the beard will no longer grow and five days after that the beard will wither away. Enhanced sweat glands, causes the player to gain wetness over time. Depending on the heat the player will get wet faster. Only a raincoat can prevent the sweat. Werebeefalo syndrome (Webber, Woodie, Maxwell, and Wilson only.) Causes the player to grow fur. During this sickness the player has tier 3 warmth, can move faster (Faster than regular speed but slower than a walking cane), attacks replaced with head butting, and will imitate a beefalo when talking.

Perhaps a cybernetic disease? Not sure how he would contract it, but let's just leave it at 'his firewall failed and he has a virus'.

I don't know where or when but im 99% sure some dev said somewhere that Wx might not be a robot at all and some sort of cyborg - human parts supprted by machine inside that metal shell and Wx just THINKs hes a machine .

I know its sounds like that dev was just goofing around but this could explain why he we see a skeleton inside him whenever he is struck by lightning. ( why else did they bother to draw him one ?) And   why does he get insane!...  ROBOTIC CONSPIRICYS!

anyway wx getting illnes could make sense anyway. Maybe one of his parts get 'rusty' for awhile or he get a  software bug.

A: Well, that'd explain why he has to 'refuel', being a cyborg --- quite like that idea, actually.

B: Yeah, rust making you slower until oiled and --- as I sufgested --- a software bug(s).
